This list of books is all about different ways to get those all important Book Reviews. I’ve read all of them and more.
I’ve chosen these books because they all contain good solid information … some are for beginners, others are for experienced authors and communicators. Some of them are very quick reads, while others offer comprehensive, indepth coverage.
Though I have every single book listed here, my advice is to get at least the first three. They all have something a bit different to say and all of them will give you loads of ideas and enough inspiration to keep you going in spite of the hard and often discouraging work.
Once you have the first three in your library, pick and choose any of the others that interest you. Even if there is nothing new, they offer you inspiration to keep on going.

Dr. Gary Webb is one of my favorite “How to Publish and Market on Kindle” authors. His writing is clear, concise and easy to understand. All of his books are “Best Sellers,” which proves that he knows what he is talking about. If you get no other “review” book … get Book Reviews That Sell. It is Number ONE on my Top Three List.
Be sure to check out Dr. Gary Webb’s other Kindle Publishing books.
This is number TWO on my Top Three List. How to Sell Books by the Truckload on Amazon – 2018 Edition! by Penny C. Sansevieri is filled with proven strategies on how to get those all important reviews.
Though there is a bit of overlap in each of my Top Three List selections, there is also something unique in each one that makes these three books an important part of your Book Publishing library. Reviews are CRITICAL to your level of success, don’t scrimp on spending less than $15 for these three books … a total of $15 could MAKE you thousands! I am NOT kidding.
Getting your book reviewed by the Book Bloggers may not get you a review ON Amazon, but it will get you reviews you can USE on your Amazon sales page and in your Author section.
If you are at all thinking about approaching book bloggers, you MUST get Kasey Giard’s book Reviews Wanted: An Author’s Guide to Effective Networking with Book Bloggers. Kasey is a book reviewer and blogger. She has written over 400 book reviews on her website The Story Sanctuary. Her book contains loads of information on what book bloggers are looking for and how to approach them.
The next book is a fast and easy to read that gives you all the basics of getting reviews. While I don’t agree with author, Felita Daniels’ views on the numbers of readers or the numbers of reviews you need, I REALLY LIKE her section on “How To Get Reviews.” Some of the ideas are solid and have been proven by time to work, while others are innovative and great for those willing to try something different!

Despite what I consider to be a terribly unattractive book cover, this book is worth reading. The author, Carolyn Howard-Johnson covers a few areas that many other Review Book authors skip or skim over — which is getting started early and getting reviews BEFORE your book is officially published. Howard-Johnson also talks about the things you can and should DO with your reviews, other than just letting them sit there!
This book won’t get you reviews on Amazon, but it will get your book mentioned in Blogs. Depending on the niche your book is in, you could get talked about in blogs with hundreds of thousands of readers. This book is a good one to read before you tackle the 500+ Reviewers listed in the Book Reviewers Directory
Short and to the point, author Werner Stejskal outlines how he gets reviews for his ebook series. Though you might dismiss this book at first, but take a look at some of the amazing reviews by a few very well-respected reviewers.
An easy to read and detailed book by two experienced authors. I especially liked the chapter on creating your successful book review program. It is worth the price of this book for that chapter alone!
This author claims that his system will get 200 reviews a month. Hmmm … I definitely don’t see 200 reviews on his author list of books BUT … take a look, you might like what you see inside. This guy often has very contrarian opinions which surprisingly make a LOT of sense. In addition to this one, I have two of his other books in my library and have found useful tidbits in all of them.
And finally here is a book about reviews that managed to get almost a hundred reviews in it’s first week. Given that I’ve seen a few “how to get reviews” books that have less than five reviews, THIS speaks for itself!
Many of the reviewers for this book talk about the need to be computer savvy. And the reviewers are right. If you don’t understand spreadsheets you probably will get very frustrated by this book. If you DO know your way around your computer you will information about a solid system on how to get reviews.
It’s a short read and well worth the price.
