Books and Cats

August 23, 2018 by Melanie Leave a Comment

Books and cats appear to have a bit of a love affair.  No big surprise considering how smart cats are … AND after all, who wouldn’t want to curl up with a good book!

And finally here is the famous photo of author Mark Twain with one of his kittens.  Twain absolutely loved cats and often thought more highly of them than his fellow humans.  At one point in time he had up to nineteen cats, and when he was away from home would often “rent” some kittens to keep him company.

“I simply can ‘ t resist a cat, particularly a purring one. They are the cleanest, cunningest, and most intelligent things I know, outside of the girl you love, of course.”

“While the rest of the species is descended from apes, redheads are descended from cats.”

“When a man loves cats, I am his friend and comrade, without further introduction.”
