I prefer weird fiction, horror, occult investigators etc. I like series characters. I tend to shy away from huge novels, or very large anthologies or collections. Novellas and short novels tend to be favoured.
I am one of a 30 strong team who review for the British Fantasy Society. I also review for several Print/electronic genre magazines: OCCULT DETECTIVE QUARTERLY (of which I am also an editor) & SKELOS are the current regular ones. I share my reviews on Amazon UK & US, unless a specific magazine publisher objects to that.
Feel free to send electronic review copies, but be aware that my backlog is always insane & time is at a premium. I get more review copies than I can possibly handle, which is why I tend to discourage the sending of actual books. Best format for me is Kindle, or epub. pdf is OK too, but I find reading on my tablet tires my eyes a lot faster, so I don't encourage them. There's a strong chance that books sent to me will never get reviewed. All I can genuinely guarantee is that, if I get around to reading it, I will review it somewhere. I offer the option of passing eARCs on to the British Fantasy Society review team Dropbox, so that any one of the 30, or so reviewers may decide to pick them up, but this also comes with no guarantees. If you have a time sensitive review request, email me with details.
