[tweet_box design=”default” float=”none”]Here is a list of twenty-four things you can do to promote your Amazon book link. [/tweet_box]
Some of them take less than a minute, while others are more complex but ultimately worth the time it takes.
Your mission should be to get your Amazon book links in as many different places as you can! You should start promoting your Amazon book link as soon as you get it. Make link building part of your daily, weekly and monthly marketing strategy.
I create a link promo calendar for each of my books. Though I handle some of the items personally, “most” of the repeating actions are delegated to my Virtual Assistant.
For example:
DAILY: Use your sig file (#14) set it up once and whenever you send an email you are “promoting” your book(s).
WEEKLY: twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+
MONTHLY: Send out your newsletter with your link in the sidebar or at the bottom. Participate in Forums, set up guest posts, make comments on relevant blog posts, Press Releases, Create new videos, ask for video reviews.
Before I start … one question. Do you have the Universal Amazon link for your book(s)? You will sell MORE books with your Universal link! Find out more and be sure to use your Universal Link with most of the tips below. Note: Unfortunately you can’t use your universal book link everywhere (for example Pinterest will not allow it) but try to use it whenever you can. It WILL increase sales.
- Each of your books should have their own website post or page. Be sure to include an image that links directly to Amazon (as well as text link).
~~~ - Add your link(s) to the bottom of every blog post on your website OR to a sidebar or footer.
~~~ - Get a friend or associate to add your book link (or Amazon author page link) to their blog roll. Several of my consulting clients belong to small “author help” groups. Their mission is not only to do writing critiques but to offer marketing help. Each member has an author blog. In the side panel of their blogs, they have a list titled “My Favorite Authors.” They list each member’s name and link directly to the members Amazon Author page. Eight members equals seven links that helps promote everyone’s books. These links also have SEO value that may help with Google rankings.
~~~ - Have a friend create a YouTube video review. Add the review to your website with your link just above or below the video box. Ask your friend to include your direct Amazon link in their video description.
~~~ - Create a great looking banner ad to reside permanently in the side panel or footer of your blog.
~~~ - Add a short description of your book to the resources section of your site.
~~~ - Write 5 to 10 different tweets. Set them up manually OR set them up to Auto Rotate. Here’s the twitter feed software I use. It not only handles all your twitter feeds but Facebook and LinkedIn as well. You will not believe all the goodies you can get for free! Try it, you’ll LOVE IT!
~~~ - Mention your book at least once a week on your Facebook profile page or your Business (Fan) page. Create ONE or two Facebook Posts and send them regularly. You can schedule them on auto with SocialOomph.
~~~ - Create your own YouTube video 30 – 45 seconds. Be sure to add your link in the video description (on your YouTube page).
~~~ - Add your own YouTube video to your website. Be sure to add your link right above or below the video.
~~~ - Write an article and submit to an article site with the link in the bio.
~~~ - Write a newsletter announcement that includes a full description, author-bio and 3rd-party review. Insert this in an autoresponder sequence. Because I work with a lot of different customers, I have had the opportunity to use most of the better know email programs. One of my favorites is GetResponse. You can set up dozens of different autoresponders depending on your needs. Their training and customer response is fabulous. Try GetResponse for FREE for 30 days.
~~~ - Add a one line description that includes your link to every newsletter in your autoresponder sequence.
~~~ - Get an Author Interview and be sure to include your direct Amazon link. If you can, also include your website link.
~~~ - Set up your email sig file to include your direct Amazon book link.
~~~ - Create a great “Pinterest” sized banner and add it to one or more of your Pinterest Boards.
~~~ - If you are on LinkedIn, be sure to add your book description and link at least once a month. Give Social Oomph a test drive for scheduling your posts.
~~~ - If you are on Google+, be sure to add your book description and link at least once a month.
~~~ - Ask your friends to add links to their social media accounts (Digg, Reddit, Stumbleupon etc). Be sure to add links to your own social media accounts.
~~~ - Offer to write Guest Posts. Be sure to include a direct link to your Amazon page as well as a link back to your own website.
~~~ - Comment on other blogger’s posts. Include your website link, and be sure your website includes your Amazon links. Blog comments MUST be relevant and “add” to the conversation. If you are just trying to promote your book, it readily becomes apparent and your comment will likely be deleted. For example, if you comment on THIS blog post, your comment needs to be about “how to promote your amazon book link.” If you can’t find something relevant to say about the topic … find a topic that you CAN make a contribution to.
~~~ - Create a six-second VINE looping video.
~~~ - Participate in Forums that are pertinent to your niche. Include your book link in your signature file.
~~~ - Include your link(s) in a Press Release.
